Growing, growing

How fast it really does go! Almost 2 years later and Im finally able to get a picture off my camera, edited, and loaded from the day she was born. My sweet Langley Rose came into this world with a bit of a scare for all of us. As scared as I was then, knowing how she is now with her determination and strength it's not too surprising she turned around in just 24 hrs. You would never know it now, our spunky little firecracker who loves to keep up with big sis and go anywhere her heart desires! Also my hardest individual to photograph to date, but she's a good challenge! I love you sweet Rose.

America

Some understand the sacrifice, while others do not. We get asked why would we do this? Isn't it hard on your family? The answer is yes, it is hard, but is anything worth doing ever easy? Yes, at times it puts a strain on the family but the pride and strength he shows our daughters everyday I would never change. The uniform he wears and the traditions he upholds are years and years of sacrifice given by so many before him. We are a proud Navy family! Thanks to my handsome hubby for dressing up so I could snag a pic!

Old made new

When I first saw Chris' bright yellow '67 Impala, I knew I had to photograph it. As we got to know them, I discovered KC's love for vintage pin up. It was the complete package and made for a very fun session. The Duenas family graciously agreed to be my guinea pigs for a day and get all dressed up for these. So much fun to play around with color and get to showcase something old that's been brought back to life. What an amazing family these guys are, so happy to have them in our life!

The Finish Line

High School Senior sessions have quickly become one of my favorite. Discussing their dreams for the future, watching them transition into adulthood, and just truly enjoying life. Their eyes are full of wonder ready to take on all that the world has to offer. All that you have worked towards is about to pay of with graduation now in sight. But the end isn't really the end, something about it is inspiring to keep going, to keep pursuing those dreams. Here's my latest session and from one athlete to another, this was a really fun one.

New Life

Going through older pictures as been refreshing to see the changes I've made and new skills developed in my photography. This was my first newborn session and it was with my nephew Dax. He's definitely done a lot of growing since these, he's now 3! These were taken with my first DSLR, a Nikon D80, before things like photoshop. I really had to make sure eveything from lighting to positioning was perfect because there's only so much you can change after. With every session I learn something new. As a photographer you are always learning, always adjusting, and always finding new ways to be creative and give it your own touch. It's fun to look back on these and see how much my nephew has changed but also how much I have changed behind the lense.

In the beginning

I created a goal for myself for 2019 to get my photography up and running. Photography has always been a passion of mine. From the first time my Dad pulled out his camera to show me the ropes, to high school using his old Nikon where I dabled in film photography. You know the good ol' rolls of film you used to drop off at the store? Except this we got to develop ourselves. It was exciting watching your photographs come to life in the darkroom. Well since then I have upgraded my camera and turned to digital, but I still use Nikon. For a couple years now I have been gathering sessions together, building my portfolio and really getting to know my camera. I am still learning but plan to share all of that here. I am excited to share my creations with all of you starting with my favorite place to be, the beach. Wish me luck!
